During autumn 2009 I was part of an exchange film project with german and israeli filmmakers.
Supported by the German Israeli Future Forum, in collaboration with Eikon gGmbH, 8 filmmakers from HFF Potsdam met 8 filmmakers from Sapir College Sderot - and spent a fantastic time.
The aim was to produce 1 minute films which give an insight to what german filmmakers propose for the future of Israel and reverse. We produced 9 films in total, and Tangled.Up is one of them.
The most intense feeling I personally had during our stay in Israel was, that "everything is super complicated." This seemed to be the No. 1 answer to whatever question I would ask. The feeling for the country and the feeling I had for myself in this particular situation is what this short film is supposed to express.
A great great thank you and lots of love goes to Neta Elkayam, my dear friend, who is my counterpart during the performance we made in the streets of Jerusalem. Thank you also Smina Bluth for the beautiful photography, thanks Yonathan Haimovich for all the support. And a special hug to Anat Even for all the great discussions!
ENJOY!
